Sebastian has played the piano since he was eight and never learned to read music. Everything he plays, he plays by ear. After more than twenty-five years, every song he plays becomes his own arrangement, shaped by the room he is playing in.
That approach took him into the five-star world. He was resident pianist of Hotel De l'Europe in Amsterdam and has played Landgoed Duin en Kruidberg, the Amrâth Kurhaus, Parc Broekhuizen, Porsche Centrum Amsterdam and the Grand Library at Rosewood Amsterdam.
He watches the guests instead of following a setlist. Requests are welcome on the night, from Dolly Parton to Einaudi, and he works them in without stopping. He speaks Dutch, English, German and Spanish, lives near Haarlem and plays across the Netherlands and abroad.
Sebastian speelt piano sinds zijn achtste en heeft nooit noten leren lezen. Alles wat hij speelt, speelt hij op gehoor. Na ruim vijfentwintig jaar wordt elk nummer dat hij speelt een eigen arrangement, afgestemd op de ruimte waarin hij speelt.
