Sebastian Miller has played the piano since he was eight and never learned to read music. Everything he plays, he plays by ear. After more than twenty-five years, every song he plays becomes his own arrangement, shaped by the room he is playing in.
That approach took him into the five-star world. He was resident pianist of Hotel De l'Europe in Amsterdam and has played Landgoed Duin en Kruidberg, the Amrâth Kurhaus, Parc Broekhuizen, Porsche Centrum Amsterdam and the Grand Library at Rosewood Amsterdam. He also plays at the Stellae lie-down concerts, in the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft and the Lebuïnuskerk in Deventer.
He watches the guests instead of following a setlist. Requests are welcome on the night, from Dolly Parton to Einaudi, and he works them in without stopping. He speaks Dutch, English, German and Spanish, lives near Haarlem and plays across the Netherlands and abroad.
